Come see hundreds of nativities from around the world, including Africa, Germany, Italy, Peru, Guatemala, Vietnam, Mexico, Jerusalem, Holland, Spain, Brazil, France, Argentina and Asia and comprised of wood, ceramics, porcelain, fabric, metal, paper, chalk, corn husk and straw. The Christmas Nativity Exhibit is a self-guided tour of nativities (crèches) beautifully displayed and nativity ornaments hanging from Christmas trees throughout the exhibit. For many this is the official start of their Christmas season and they return to the exhibit and free concerts year after year.
Bring your small children to the activity room to play with unbreakable nativities, puzzles, puppets, books and create a nativity craft. Bring your camera and take a picture of your family dressed up as characters from the original Nativity.
This free event is hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 7168 Old Highway 13 in Carbondale, Illinois between Tower Road and Country Club Road. The Christmas Nativity Exhibit and Concerts is open November 30 - December 2, 2012. If you have questions, would like to lend a nativity or perform in one of our concerts, please call Jana Brown at 618-684-8587.
